Our story so far..
Combining the original owner's dream of opening a restaurant and a passion for Scandinavian food, Salt bar opened it's doors in August 2013, having it's journey through planning, construction and launch recorded for the BBC2 series "The Restaurant Man". From that point on there was no looking back and we're so proud it's still here, eight years on, with just a few changes along the way.
Under new ownership since 2015 Salt Bar has continued to welcome guests and maintain the Scandi vibe that produced a much appreciated regular customer base. Now, in 2021, after a rollercoaster eighteen months, we feel it's time to move on and incorporate our own ideas, passions and values, creating a menu that will hopefully appeal to a wider audience while maintaining the standards and ambience that our treasured regulars know and love.
We are a family run business with a small team and a big heart. Our dishes are all produced on site using and supporting other small, local independent suppliers for our ingredients where possible. The menu is changed seasonally and, although small to minimise food wastage, offers something for all tastes. What about the meatballs? Well, they're still on the menu and probably always will be.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and we very much hope to see you soon.
